Cristina Grasseni

Cristina Grasseni, M.Phil., Ph.D., is scientific director of the Fondazione Giannino Bassetti. She was trained in anthropology, philosophy and history of science at Pavia, Cambridge and Manchester. She lectures Anthropology at the University of Bergamo.

She is interested in epistemology, European ethnography and the anthropology of science and technology.

Amongst her publications: Skilled Visions. Between Apprenticeship and Standards (ed.by Grasseni, Berghahn Publishers Oxford 2007), Developing Skill, Developing Vision. Practices of Locality at the Feet of the Alps (Oxford, Berghahn, forthcoming 2008), as well as relevant articles in Social Anthopology, Anthropology in Action, Journal of the Society for the Anthropology of Europe, Studies in the History and Philosophy of Science, Visual Anthropology, Cambridge Anthropology, Environment and Planning.
