The Bassetti Foundation is delighted to announce the forthcoming release of the International Handbook on Responsible Innovation – A Global Resource<\/a>, edited by Ren\u00e9 von Schomberg and our own Jonathan Hankins.<\/p>\n

The Handbook constitutes a global resource for the fast-growing interdisciplinary research and policy communities addressing the challenge of driving innovation towards socially desirable outcomes. This book brings together well-known authors from the US, Europe, Asia and South-Africa who develop conceptual and regional perspectives on responsible innovation as well as exploring the prospects for further implementation of responsible innovation in emerging technological practices ranging from agriculture and medicine, to nanotechnology and robotics. The emphasis is on the socio-economic and normative dimensions of innovation including issues of social risk and sustainability.<\/p>\n

Regular readers will recognize many of the authors alongside that of Editor Ren\u00e9 von Schomberg<\/a> from various articles on the website and visits to Foundation events in Milan. Long-time friends of the Foundation David Guston<\/a> and Sally Randles, VIRI <\/a>members Mikl\u00f3s Lukovics, Hannot Rodriguez, Ellen-Marie Forsberg and Jack Stigoe (to name just a few) and Editor in Chief of the Journal of Responsible Innovation<\/a> Erik Fisher all offer chapters. <\/p>\n

The volume also includes an INTERVIEWS<\/strong> section headed by an interview with Foundation President Piero Bassetti (carried out by Sally Randles) and a chapter by Jonathan Hankins in the EMBEDDING RESPONSIBLE INNOVATION IN EMERGING TECHNOLOGICAL PRACTICES<\/strong> section dedicated to the concept of Poiesis Intensive Innovation as developed through the work of the Bassetti Foundation itself. <\/p>\n
